| 英文摘要 | Tuareg Resistance Viewed through the Lens of World Music. -The myth of Tuareg resistance has inhabited Western imagery since the French colonization and has, since the 2000s, been embraced by the discourse of World Music. In this article, I examine the images of "rebels" and "threatened minorities" associated with the famous band Tinariwen, from the Malian desert, to analyse the multiple constructions of Tuareg identity forged through music. I then analyse connections with the current political context, in which Northern Mali is engaged in an armed conflict that involves separatist Tuareg movements and international bodies. Musical images as such become a lens through which to reflect on the negotiated and flexible idea of belonging to the so-called "Tuareg world" and to understand its ambivalent relationships in the context of globalization. |
