英文摘要	This present study aimed to define the area drained of the River do Cais Sub-Basin (SBHRC), partitioning of sectors from Sub-Basin, to perform the calculation of the water balance (BH) parameters and identify areas of climate weakness the sectors. The SBHRC has 210 course of 1st order, 42 of 2nd order, 7 of 3rd order, 2 of 4th order and 1 segment of 5th order, whose drainage system density is equal to 0.35 km/km(2) and rivers density equal to 0,1 course/km(2). The SBHRC was divided in the following sectors: Sector A (upper course), representing 39.2% of the area, sector B (mid course) and covers 37.7%, C sector (lower course) and corresponds to 23.1% of the sub-basin. The HBS data indicate that the sectors A, B and C have, respectively, 32.3%, 33% and 34.5% in their areas with 1000-1100 mm from annual rainfall, mainly concentrated from January to May and the occurrence of 8-10 dry months, resulting in high rates of the potential evapotranspiration and actual evapotranspiration. The sector A, B and C show, respectively, 27.7%, 38.4% and 44.6% of their areas with high degrees to very high level of the aridity, a result of the peculiarities of sum-humid and semi-arid dry climates.
