英文摘要 | The objective of this article is to understand the discursive and cognitive changes that have made the Wayuu communities came into the fight against the mine in order to safeguard their area(s). We are in the North East of Colombia, department of Guajira, a semi-desert peninsula bordering Venezuela and territory of the Wayuu indigenous communities. Here cohabit since the 1970s Wayuu and Cerrejon, largest surface coal extraction mine opened in the world. This cohabitation of two entities with very different performances sparked upheaval in the social order of the indigenous communities fighting since the arrival of the mine to continue to exist. The stakes of this struggle is the sovereignty of the territory claimed as ancestral and sacred to some and as transnational development factor for others. This is indeed a confrontation between two conceptions of the environment that we discuss here and, through it, the verticality of a power struggle which resulted in the creation of a relational space, which will lead communities to rethink and redefine themselves in order to be heard in the global arena. Finally, it is to understand the discursive and cognitive changes that have made the Wayuu communities came into the fight against the mine in order to safeguard their (s) area (s). |
