英文摘要	The study aimed to analyze the components of the water balance through rainfall data and create thematic maps, municipalities Castle of Piau and Juazeiro do Piau. The analysis of the components of the water balance is based on the annual series data obtained by sudene. These data were employed in Thornthwaite methodology and the flaws corrected through the regional weighting method proposed by Tucci, for analysis of the following parameters Water Balance: precipitation, evapotranspiration Total Potential and Real, humidity Effective Index, aridity index and number of Months Dry. The analysis of the components of the water balance was based on the annual series data obtained through the Office of the Northeast Development. Castle of Piau and Juazeiro do Piau have the following climatic characteristics: average rainfall of 996mm; average potential evaporation of 1.434mm; Real Evapotranspiration values of between 719mm and 1.276mm; 5-8 dry months; average monthly temperatures well distributed throughout the year; Effective index characteristic of dry sub-humid climate humidity and semiarid; Aridity index with 46.1% of stations with values between 0.51 to 0.65, fitting as dry sub-humid climate, so susceptible to desertification. Given these data, we can estimate the areas with greater erosive potential, keeping them and/or developing an appropriate environmental planning for your exploration.
