英文摘要The first book of Raul Hernandez Novas Enigma de las aguas [Enigma of the Waters], published in 1983, includes the poem "Aguas" ['Waters']. In this poem, the poet appeals to a figure running through the various interpretive bets of his work: the sea. From direct and hermetic ways, this poetic space is presented as a reminder of the fate of being Caribbean. This view of the sea is related to the perception of many poets of the Caribbean in their geographic and political position. Although you cannot separate the poem from the traces of homesickness and sadness, you can deem it a poetics of the inside-out taking into account concepts such as leakage, desert and origin; phenomena which are addressed beyond the aesthetic and political debate in Cuba.
