英文摘要	The requirement of adapting to adverse conditions force the population of semi-arid region try and develop many techniques of catchment and storage a restricted available water resources. In this sense, calls little dam, which are small channels done in the land preferred pathway of runoff are used only not for its interception, but also to providing water for animals and food yield in the humid fringes. Nevertheless, the high evapotranspiration request, remarkable feature of this region, allows us to question whether the water stored in little dam ensure the soil moisture. The aim with this study evaluated the moisture soil behavior in humid fringes of three little dam, installed experimental area of IFNMG/Aracuai, in January to September 2012. The results show that the little dam provided higher soil moisture during the crop production cycle, which in turn conditioned higher crop yields cultivated in humid fringes, beyond protects the soil from the adverse effects of runoff.
