英文摘要	In the eve of the century, no one questions the presence of new information and communication technologies in schools, but rather the way they are used, particularly in the classroom, for teaching-learning purposes. This article is based on a PhD research study following a mixed methods approach, predominately of qualitative nature, still being undertaken at Universidade Aberta, Portugal, whose main objective focuses on the way the leadership of two groups of schools, located in municipalities in different regions of Portugal, with diverse physical dimensions and teaching staffs, arid also with different social arid economic characteristics, use ICT The study aims at finding responses to the way such leaderships appropriate ICT and contaminate the teaching staff of the schools groups they lead towards their use. This is an article of an empiric nature presenting some preliminary and partial results obtained by means of one of the instruments used in the research-the questionnaire. From such results we may conclude that the teachers consider the support provided by leadership to the use of ICT of little influence, and the penetration of ICT in Portuguese public schools and their use in the classroom for teaching-learning purposes continues to he somehow difficult.
