英文摘要	This study aims to identify and classify the land use and occupation of the municipality of Brazil -Bahia (BA) Teofilandia between the years 1993 to 2008, using the maximum likelihood supervised classification to compare the result of post-classification. To this end, we used Landsat images 5TM 1993, 1994, 2007 and 2008, scene 216/68. The images were processed according to the three steps of digital image processing: preprocessing, processing (bands 543), Maxver classification. The techniques used identified the major classes resulting from the dynamics of land use and cover in the municipality: urban area, water, pasture, bare soil and caatinga vegetation. The results of Maxver classification compared to the postclassification between pictures, showed more influence of seasonal changes in the classes of use and occupation soil, than the extremes of temporal cutting between the years analyzed.
