英文摘要	Chemical analysis of the representative U waste sample reveals that, it assays 0.05% U, 0.016% Th as radioactive elements and 0.038% REEs as nuclear elements. A hydrometallurgical process has been applied to extract U and Th from the present waste sample. The sample was fused with KHSO4 at sample/reagent weight (S/R) ratio of 1/1, time of 1hour and fusion temperature of 800 degrees C followed by water leaching. Chemical analysis of the produced leach liquor revealed that, it assays 0.039% U and 0.096% The with leaching efficienc ies reached 78% and 65%, respectively wherever it has a pH value of 4.59. Extraction of U and Th was performed using Flux Fiber with achieved extraction efficiencies of 90% and 75%, respectively at a stirring time of 1h, pH of 1.6 and room temperature. U-Th oxide cake was recovered through the ignition of the loaded Flux Fiber at 850 degrees C for 1h the product was identified using SEM technique.
