英文摘要	The objective of this work is verify the kinetics of CO2 (microbian activity) in an area of caatinga vegetation in Semi-arid of Paraiba (BR). The experiment was carried out at Station Experimental Bacia Escola-CCA/UFPB, coordinates 7 degrees 2' 45,1 '' S and 36 degrees 31' 47,2 '' W, altitude 458 m. The evaluation of microbian activity was carried through the field, at the end of the rainy season, daily for two hours of daylight (05: 00 to 17: 00 h). In the area of caatinga there had been installed cylinders for captation of free CO2, in eighteen points of determination. The meteorological elements had been monitored in the same interval of time of the curve of CO2 release by the automatic station installed in the experimental area. The CO2 tax varies along the day according the temperature and the relative humidity of air. The hours of bigger CO2 release had been from 12: 00 to the 18: 00 hours. The evaluations of kinetic of CO2 (microbial activity) help to explain some processes that occur in the ground and are essential for the recovery of degraded areas. It becomes necessary more studies in Semi-arid about the temperature and humidity of air, since these elements influence in the tax of CO2 rele ase to the atmosphere.
