英文摘要In the semi-arid context of Northeastern Brazil superficial processes are ruled by the magnitude of pluvial inputs, their recurrence in time and space, and direct interaction with superficial formations peculiar to this morphogenetic domain as well as land use practices. In fact, at a micro-watershed scale pluvial erosion is the most representative type, and constitutes an environmental problem within the traditional agrarian spaces of the semi-arid Northeast. In the watershed of Mulungu creek, the social context displays the low human development level of its population, whereas the environmental context reflects the stress exerted by the former upon its physical support, in the shape of increased linear erosion, alluvial fan formation and channel siltation, outcropping of saline crusts and the low density of the native vegetation cover. The aim of this work was to determine an erosion vulnerability index for Mulungu creek watershed using the principles of Tricart's Ecodynamics as well as geographical information system and remote sensing techniques. In order to obtain an expedite image of landscape superficial structure and its dynamics, a climatic graph was created, and latter digital thematic maps of soils, landforms, geology, vegetation, slope gradient and a digital terrain model were overlaid. Following, vulnerability indexes were estimated based on the interaction amongst geological, geomorphological, pedological, vegetation, climate and land use data. From the analysis of those parameters a general morphodynamics index was obtained for the watershed, rendering a value of 2.0, which indicates that the study area is susceptible to morphogenesis, in fact quite close to a strong ecodynamic instability level.
