英文摘要	The region located between Merida-Ejido and Estanques, a tectonically active area with a semi-arid climate, is an ideal laboratory for the study of a subject field which has undergone a steadfast urban expansion. In a small sector of approximately 4 km(2), on the border of the Chama River, the site of La Gonzalez village and the housing community of Villa Libertad, two scenarios can be analyzed from the activity developed by a small torrent: (i) a possible reactivation from the year 1999 of a very aggressive debris flow which fan partially dammed up the Chama river in 2004; the system seems to be an appealing geoindicator of a significant propensity for rainfall in the region; ii) an actual hazard that El Paraiso sliding (250,000 - 385,000m3) may become a seismic avalanche with disastrous consequences. One aspect to be considered with interest is the torrent's increasing potential of obturating the Chama River. Another peculiar aspect to point at is the presence of two adjacent drainage basins, La Gonzalez river and La Sucia stream, with highly dissimilar rocks which have generated large alluvial fans. Some preliminary results related to the "flooding" of the Chama River and the action of some local torrents have been brought ahead.
