英文摘要 | In the past few decades, fog harvesting for providing freshwater has received increasing attention all over the world. Inspired by the efficient fog-harvesting ability of Namib Desert beetles, here, we report a facile, easy-to-operate and cost-effective approach to mimic the beetle's back by utilizing hierarchical nanostructures. Vertically aligned ZnO NRs are first synthesized by a hydrothermal method. Fe2O3 NPs are then deposited on them via a dip-coating process. After a selective modification of alkyl mercaptan, the hybrid surface presents rapid fog capture effect and high droplet removal efficiency, the synergistic effect of which results in an enhanced fog collection efficiency, showing a superior performance than uniformly superhydrophobic surface. Moreover, the hybrid surface presented an excellent reusability, which may offer insight for the design of hybrid hydrophilic-hydrophobic patterned surfaces for efficient fog harvesting. |
