英文摘要 | This study introduces the implementation of a citizen-centered green space assessment, partly developed through a PhD thesis and earlier work, in an applied research project ("grunOase" - Integrated analysis and assessment of green city oases) in the city of Salzburg, Austria. The thesis developed a methodology that unveils the relation between spatial indicators of urban green spaces of the city of Szeged, Hungary, designed with GIS technology and remote sensing data (i.e., very high-resolution satellite imagery (VHR), and perceived quality of life contributions of the green spaces reported by their visitors. An earlier work in Salzburg developed a weighted green index by combining mapped and perceived green structures. Similar to the Szeged and the Salzburg study, the grunOase project depends on the amalgamation of quantitative information derived from remote sensing data and citizens' perception of urban green and recreation areas. The aim of grunOase is to further develop the proposed concept of an integrated urban green space assessment for supporting sustainable urban planning and environment management by combining remote sensing image classification, as quantitative data, and results of questionnaire surveys amongst visitors of two city parks in Salzburg, as qualitative information. By transferring the Szeged and the Salzburg methodologies to the grunOase project we expect to increase their robustness and their practical applicability. Eventually, grunOase involves and informs relevant local stakeholders and decision makers in Salzburg already in the conceptual phase and will contribute to citizens' quality of life. |
