英文摘要 | Groundwater management and withdrawal have gained prominence over recent years coincident with the shortage of surface water and drought occurrence in arid and semiarid regions as those found in Iran. The Zayahndehroud basin is located in Isfahan Province and is one of the water-crisis examples in Iran. It is necessary to monitor the spatial changes of groundwater resources as a prerequisite to manage them effectively. This study assesses the spatial and temporal distribution of the groundwater level in the Zayahndehroud employing inverse distance weighting (IDW) and ordinary, simple, and universal kriging over 11years (2002-2013). The accuracy of each interpolation method was compared with the mean absolute error, mean absolute percentage error, mean percent error, root mean squared error, and mean bias error. The spatial zoning maps were drawn by an interpolation method which had the least total error. The results indicate that ordinary kriging in the first and the middle periods, and universal kriging in the ending period were the best groundwater interpolation models. Comparisons of the maps also demonstrate that the level of groundwater has decreased by 10.9 meter over 11 years because of the Zayandehroud basin drought since 2007 and over-pumping of groundwater. |
