One of the possible remedies to control the inputs of salts ward the surface would he by diminishing the groundwater; because areas set on values in arid zones of the region of Ouargla are based upon excessively mineralized groundwater whose level is near the ground surface (0 to 1.5 m). The improvement and stabilization of yields of any cultural practices in these areas can only take place if the salty groundwater is maintained (drained) to a depth of 1.6m. The results of work carried on the determination of the groundwater evaporation in Ouargla show that the evaporation essentially depends on: The climate that reigns above the ground of the groundwater situated on the band from 0 to 0.6 m. The climate and soil texture according the groundwater located in the layer from 0.6 to 1.6 m. The depth of the groundwater when this latter is located beyond 1.6 m.
