Despite the good reputation of the company they work for in addition to the good salaries they get compared to other companies, the executives of the industrial complex of gas which is situated in an isolated area right in the south west of the Algerian desert, may suffer from isolation away from their families and social life in addition to the difficult environmental conditions of work and the diversity of working population from different regions as well as the dangerousness of their job. Hence, the aim of this study is to assess the level as well as the degree of stress among the executives of the industrial complex of gas at SONATRACH Company in accordance with certain organizational and individual characteristics. The results showed that the study sample suffer on the whole from occupational stress but on different scale as 10.5%, of them experience that always while 44.2%, of them get it often and 41% of them only sometimes. The intensity of the occupational stress has reached the medium degree for: 63.7%, among the respondents, and a high degree for: 27.4% of them, and acute degree for: 4.7% of them. The results also showed that there are individual differences in the responses of the study sample on the level of occupational exposure to stress according to the variables: age, experience and family situation. The results also indicate also that there are significant differences in the responses of the study sample for the intensity of the occupational stress depending on the variables: education level, work system, the structure of the organization.
