GHG emissions and Energy Payback Time for AC electricity generated by the SunPower (R) Oasis (R) ground-mounted solar power plant were evaluated through a life cycle assessment (LCA) of a 579MWp solar plant in California. The combination of the high efficiency SunPower (R) solar panels and the smart Oasis (R) tracking technology generates AC electricity at only 199 CO(2)eq/kWh AC and 0.32MJ/kWh AC over a 30 year lifetime. The high electricity generation of this plant allows for a reduced Energy Payback time in AC electricity to 9 months.
