By analyzing the present situation of urban landscape construction in northwest China, the guiding principles and evaluation system standards for the planning and design of landscapes are proposed to create a landscape evaluation and information feedback mechanism, provide important theory and practice instructions for the environment design of the northwest towns, and achieve the sustainable development of the ecological security and cultural characteristics of China's arid and semi-arid regions.
