Based on Landsat8 datum, NDVI and Albedo were extracted from the research area to establish a linear relationship between them. Then Albedo-NDVI feature space model was built up and land classification information of Duobao town was quantitatively extracted in October 2013 through desertification index ( DDI). The result has showed that desertification area distribution is mainly in the west part of Duobao. Extremely severe desertification area is 5.51km(2), accounting for 7.4% of the entire town; severe desertification area is 10.59km(2), accounting for 14.2% of it and the proportion of slight desertification area accounts for 3/4.
