A kind of inorganic gelling sand-fixing material is prepared by the hand-mould process using the desert sands as the main raw materials, the water glass solution as gelling agent, and some inorganic chloride as the solidified agent. The sand-fixing material has certain strength, convenient construction, low cost and environmental friendliness. The influences of six factors including the dosage of gelling agent, solidified agent's type and concentration, solidification time, curing time, curing temperature on the compressive strength of the sand-fixing material are discussed. The experimental results show that the optimum process parameters are 1.0kg desert sand, 0.24L water glass solution, aluminum chloride solution with concentration of 3.0mol/L, solidification time of 120min, curing time of 4d and curing temperature of 60 degrees C.
