Water resources of karst underground rivers account for 61% in the natural karst water resources in Guangxi, which are the important water source of urban and rural water supply in karst areas. Drought becomes a bottleneck for economic development in most of the karst areas. It requires some patterns of exploiting and utilizing water resources of karst underground rivers on basis of scientific, rational and in light of local conditions to relax the drought in karst area. Based on the study of karst underground rivers in Liujiang river basin, the paper sums up the typical models of exploiting and utilizing karst underground rivers water resources in Guangxi into four kinds- "drawing", "pumping", "plugging", "enclosing". Based on the real condition of Karst underground river basin in Guangxi, landform can be divided into three models: cluster-peak depression, cluster valley and karst plain. According to the arid region situation of the three geomorphic types in Liujiang River basin, this paper summarizes those water resources development and utilization models in Liujiang River basin and finally sums up those models in Guangxi.
