Yearly, the concern on environmental problems of the earth is growing on. One of the typical issues is desertization. To inhibit harmful effects of desertization, confirmed prediction methods which clarify mechanism of desertization are required. It is expected that numerical simulations are useful for the purpose. However, the numerical procedure and the physical model for predicting have not been established yet. For example, it is very difficult to estimate the formation and movement of a dune because of its wide range of spatial and temporal scale. Sauermann et al. and Kroy et al. conducted the numerical simulation of the various dunes. But their results were not satisfactory in quantity. Furthermore, although a number of physical models for sand transfer have been proposed, it is not clear which model is the best. Hence, our purposes are to construct the holistic simulation technique which reasonably reproduces sand transfer, and to apply it to create an effective prevention method of desertization. In this study, we simulated two dimensional sand transfers by the use of our modeling. The results showed reproduction of typical dune surface geometry called ripple. Thereby we identified the qualitative reasonableness of our modeling. In addition, three dimensional simulations are carried out in order to compare our results to experimental data.
