In this contribution a territorial shifts in climate regions and subregions in the mountainous parts of Slovakia during the 20(th) century and at the beginning of the 21(st) century are studied. Analysis is based on the Koncek's climatic classification. This study shows that climate in the southern part of Slovakia (lowlands) has become more arid, while, the northern part of Slovakia (mountains) has become more humid during this period. Some shifts of climatic regions and subregions towards the higher altitudes were registered in Slovakia during this period as well.
