The study on the ground surface parameters in Minqin Oasis in Gansu Province with using remote sensing data

Based on the remote sensing data, this paper analyzed the spatial characteristic of ground surface parameters in Minqin Oasis. Surface parameters were closely related to the ground conditions and were the foundation of the regional scale evaporation and the surface energy exchange. The ground surface parameters in this paper included the land surface temperature (LST), vegetation index (VI) and soil moisture. They were mainly deduced by using the TM data in 1992 and in 2006. Temperature Vegetation Dryness Index (TVDI), which can indicate the soil moisture condition, was calculated in this paper on the basis of LST and VI. The research results showed that: (1) The characteristics of the NDVI was distinguished with the different land types, and vegetation index value of cropland and high coverage grass and forest was highest, which maximum value was above 0.6, and vegetation index value of desert land and salinization land was lowest, whole value was less than 0; (2) Land surface temperature from high to low was: desert > slight saline and alkali land > serious saline and alkali land > moderate saline and alkali land > vegetation. The cropland presented the high NDVI and the low temperature characteristic and the salinization land and the desert land presented the low NDVI and the higher temperature characteristic. (3) The soil moisture of the land covered by the high degree vegetation coverage was bigger than that of salinization land and the desert land with low vegetation coverage.
