The study on strengthen recycled concrete aggregate

Recycled concrete, which is cast with partial or all recycled aggregate, can reduce the environment pollution and occupancy of cultivable land by construction garbage, but also can reduce the consumption of natural materials and make for resource recycled utilization. Recycled aggregate (RA) is formed by crushed and categorized deserted concrete. Compared to the natural gravel, the properties of recycled aggregate, which is treated through simple crushed technique is worse. Therefore, it is necessary to shape and strengthen them. Results show that, through particle shaping and strengthening, the properties of recycled aggregate get better observably, properties of high quality recycled coarse aggregate are even close to the natural gravel, and properties of recycled fine aggregate get improved also. The particle shaping and strengthen facilities of recycled aggregate overseas are large at present, and also they have the disadvantages of complex process to make, easily frayed, high energy consumption and high cost to produce as well. A new technology called recycled aggregate beating itself to strengthen the RA is strongly recommended. It has the advantage of small facility, simple arts and crafts, lasting longer, and lower cost to produce, so it can be used widely in China.
