Ecosystem security of the oasis is the base for sustainable development of society, economy and environment in the and inland river basin, and the development and water resources utilization is of great significance to it. Taking Minqin oasis as a case study, this paper studied the relationship between water resources utilization and the ecosystem in the oasis; put forward a series of strategic countermeasures to ensure the ecological security of the oasis: to increase surface water that enters into the area, limit over-exploitation of underground water, develop forestry, rangeland and livestock for the adjustment of agriculture structure, optimize the allocation of water resources, establish water-saving ecosystem, rationally allocate and arrange the ecological water, migrate people to the places with favorable water conditions, develop water-saving agriculture, etc.
