Temporal - Spatial Characteristics of Discharge at Zhengyixia and Ecological Effect

Ecological problems and the ecological evolvement law of the lower reaches of the Heihe River are discussed here, which believes that the evolvement of oases in the lower reaches consists of natural succession, ecological degradation and ecological deterioration. Ecological degradation began with over exploitation of water resources, sharp shrink or disappearance of lakes and springs, and ecological deterioration occurred in accompany with sharp reduction of surface water and severe effect on groundwater circulation. Temporal and spatial characteristics of flow discharge at Zhengyixia are analyzed. Discharges in longitudinal, transversal and perpendicular directions are different, and durational distribution is peculiar. The relationship between such characteristics and ecological evolvement of the lower reaches is studied, revealing the ecological effect of flow discharge at Zhengyixia with respect of temporal and spatial characteristics. For the purposes of ecological stability and sustainable development, suggestions are put forward on water resources utilization planning of the Heihe River and ecological environment conservation in its lower reaches.
