Wind and water erosion are usually studied as two separate processes, but in semi-arid zones the two processes contribute about equally to soil degradation, This paper reviews similarities and differences between the two processes, and describes the main techniques used to quantify wind and water erosion, Finally, the techniques required for simultaneous quantification of wind and water erosion in the same area is discussed.
