Lippia integrifolia is a medicinal and aromatic shrub found in the Monte Phytogeographical Province, Argentina. In this paper the suitable culture conditions for in vitro multiplication and rooting from single node explants were shown. The original material was obtained from plants collected in the field. Segments of stems with 10-15 nodes were surface sterilized by immersion in ethanol 70 degrees GL for two minutes, followed by immersion in a mixture of 20% commercial bleach (1.2% sodium hypoclorite, final concentration) and benzalkonium chloride 0.1% for 30 minutes, and washed four times in sterile distilled water. Eight different culture media were used for shoot multiplication. Best results were obtained in two ionic strenght of Murashige-Skoog (MS) salt medium x 1 MS and x 0.5 MS. in these media, multiplication rate at 34(th) day was 1:9.7 and rooting 70%. After in vitro culture, a seven days length acclimatization process at environmental conditions, shoots showed good responses with 87% of plant survival. The protocols developed in this work allow to propagate in vitro shoots from segments of stems cut into single nodal explants.
