| 英文摘要 | Since the creation of the Army Reserve in 1908 it has been a key component of the National Military Strategy of the United States. When called upon in times of crisis, many perceived it was not ready. This paper will review the evolution of the Army Reserve and how it was created as a supplementary force under the Total Force Policy. It will also examine how the Army Reserve responded when called upon during Operations Desert Shield/Storm and Operations Enduring/Iraqi Freedom. Next this paper will review how the Army Reserve is evolving to better support the active component with the modular force known as the Army Reserve Expeditionary Force. Lastly this paper will review changes that will enhance the Army Reserve’s capability to provide trained and ready personnel and units and make recommendations to ensure the force is ready to deploy when called. |
