英文摘要	This report examines the information and communications technology (ICT) services industry in response to an inquiry by the Department of Energy鈥檚 (DOE鈥檚) Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis. The report answers several key questions: 鈥ow has the reliance on ICT services evolved in recent years for key infrastructure services such as air travel, freight transport, electricity and natural gas distribution, financial services, and critical health care, and for the household sector? 鈥hat ICT industry trends explain continued strong linkage to and reliance upon ICT? 鈥hat is the ICT industry鈥檚 reliance on grid-supplied power, uninterruptible power supplies, emergency generators and back-up energy storage technologies? 鈥hat are the observed direct effects of ICT disruptions induced by electrical system failures in recent history and how resilient are the components of the ICT industry?
