中文摘要	毛里塔尼亚伊斯兰共和国位于撒哈拉沙漠西部,其中撒哈拉沙漠占国土面积的2/3,剩余的1/3土地也属于沙漠边缘的半荒漠地带,素有沙漠共和国之称。持续的干旱使植被严重受损,而人口的迅速增长和经济全球化的负面影响,使大部分地区贫困化加剧,人们为了生存,被迫毁林毁草,土地过度开垦,牧场超载利用,形成了贫穷加剧沙漠化,沙漠化又加剧了贫穷的恶性循环。荒漠化已严重制约着人民的生存和发展,成为了该国亟需面对和解决的问题。为了治理本国的荒漠化,毛里塔尼亚政府采取了一系列有效的防沙固沙措施,同时积极和国际社会进行交流和合作,并在非洲绿色长城项目中积极担当主席国一职,为荒漠化防治做贡献。
英文摘要	In the late 1960s and early 1970s,years of severe drought in the Sahara area of Western Africa led to an unprecedented disaster,so desertification problem caused the attention of people all over the world. The Islamic Republic of Mauritania known asthe desert of the Republic,is located in the Western Sahara, which accounted for 2 /3 land area of it,the remaining belongs to the edge of the desert semi-desert areas. The continuing drought making vegetation seriously damaged,while rapid population growth and the negative impact of economic globalization has exacerbated poverty in most parts. In order to survive,people are forced to deforest and destroy the grass,excessive land reclamation,pasture overload use,which has formed a deepening poverty and desertification, exacerbated by desertification and poverty vicious circle. Desertification has seriously restricted the peoples survival and development,which has become the countrys urgent need to face. Periodic arid climate,sandy surface and low vegetation coverage,the terrain landform is the main reason leading to the desertification mostly,years of climate change is one of the culprits of desertification. On combating desertification Mauritanian government has taken a series of effective measures of sand fixing,meanwhile Mauritania is active in communication and collaboration with the international community,and actively serves as Chair country in theGreen Great Wall Africaproject.
