风成沉积物源分析方法及其应用研究进展

中文摘要风成沉积物的物源追踪对于重建干旱区地表过程、恢复区域过去大气环流模式的变化历史以及更加深刻地理解各种不同类型风积物的环境意义具有重要作用,同时还能帮助我们厘清物源变化与气候变化以及构造运动之间的关系。在回顾了风成沉积物的矿物学、元素地球化学、同位素地球化学以及单矿物地球化学等物源示踪方法及其应用的研究现状的基础上,探讨了各种物源分析方法的优势以及可能存在的问题,并对未来的物源研究进行了展望。
英文摘要Tracing the sources of aeolian sediment is significant for reconstructing the earth surface processes in arid area and recovering the historical change of atmospheric circulation patterns.In this paper,the previous studies at the aspects of analysis methods and their application were reviewed.The methods of tracing the sources of aeolian sediment include the mineralogy,elements and isotope geochemical analysis.Heavy mineral assemblage analysis is a traditional way to trace source area of alluvial deposits.Density of heavy minerals is quite different under different conditions,and heavy minerals may have different sources.The heavy mineral analysis is only applied to trace the relatively nearby source area of aeolian sediment.It is a newly developed provenance-tracing method to use a combination of electron spin resonance (ESR) signal intensity of the E1center in quartz and crystallinity index (CI) of quartz,which can be used to effectively differentiate 9 types of Gobi and sandy deserts in East Asia.The thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) sensitivities of quartz grains can be used to classify the deserts in China into four types according to the spatial variation of luminescence sensitivities.Element geochemistry has been widely applied to trace the potential sources of aeolian deposits.So we must synthesize a series of tracer elements to find a better understanding of source area of aeolian deposits.Nd and Sr isotopes are the most widely used methods in the source tracing of aeolian dust.Pb isotopes are also used to distinguish the potential sources,but some researchers thought that anthropogenic Pb may change the Pb isotope composition.Because the difference of isotope composition among the potential sources is very small,the sample contamination must be avoided.Geochemistry of monomineral analysis has been applied to trace the provenance of sediments in recent years.Tracing technique based on U-Pb dating of single zircon grain also has some limitations because zircon is a heavy mineral and the test technique is time-consuming and very expensive.The O isotope of quartz exhibits a clear spatial pattern in the deserts in China.Following two aspects must be strengthened in the future: ① provenance tracers can be used to effectively differentiate the potential sources; ② we must find some provenance tracers which can’t be influenced by wind sorting during the earth surface processes.
