中文摘要	以西鄂尔多斯荒漠草原常见灌木绵刺与短脚锦鸡儿为研究对象.采用全根挖掘法研究西鄂尔多斯绵刺与短脚锦鸡儿的根系形态特征,调查土壤水分的分布格局.结果表明绵刺和短脚锦鸡儿根系生物量和根长密度均表现出随土壤深度的加深先增大后减小的趋势.绵刺和短脚锦鸡儿的根系分布浅,主要分布于0~30cm的土壤中;根/冠比很小(分别为0.47和1.38),但根幅可达冠幅6~8倍.根系的细根根长密度、吸水能力与土壤含水量呈显著正相关关系,根系形态构型与土壤含水量的垂直分布格局相匹配.绵刺和短脚锦鸡儿的根系特征表现出了对干旱区的有限降水、局限渗透和土壤含水量的垂直分布格局的生态适应性.
英文摘要	Common shrubs of Potaninia mongolica and Caragana brachypodain the West Ordos desert grassland were selected as the research object.The method of full root excavation was used to study the root morphological characteristics of the two plant species,and the soil moisture distribution pattern within the community was investigated.The results showed that both root biomass and root length density of the two plant species increased first and then decreased with the soil depth,and their roots mainly distributed in a shallow soil layer of 0-30cm.They had low root to shoot ratios of 0.47 and 1.38 respectively,and their root crown width was 6 to 8 times of that of shoot.The fine root length density and water absorbing ability of the two shrubs had a significant positive correlation with soil moisture,and their root morphology configurations matched with soil moisture vertical distribution pattern.Root morphological characteristics showed that Potaninia mongolica and Caragana brachypoda had a well ecological adaptability in limited precipitation,limited penetration,and vertical distribution pattern of soil moisture in arid region.
