中文摘要	干旱区由于特殊的地理环境及气候特征，人口、资源与环境的矛盾日益突出，生态环境非常脆弱。文中以甘肃省嘉峪关为例，运用生态足迹法分析嘉峪关市1997－2005年生态足迹变化及生态安全状况，通过综合评价后认为嘉峪关市目前生态安全程度较低，并提出了进一步加大生态安全建设的相关建议。
英文摘要	For the special geographical environment and the climatic characters of arid area，the conflicts among population，resoures and environment are increasingly evident，and the eco－environment is extremely weak．taking Jiayuguan city as an example，we analyzed the ecological footprint change and ecological security from 1997 to 2005．The comprehensive evaluation showed that the ecological safety of Jiayuguan city is at a low level currently，and we put forward some suggestions for increasing the ecological security．
