中文摘要	北美海蓬子Salicornia bigelovii属于藜科海蓬子属植物，是一种耐盐性极强的真盐生植物，它最佳生长的Na^＋浓度范围很广，同时又是一种极具开发潜力的经济作物。大面积种植北美海蓬子不但可以恢复和改造海岸带生态环境、治理沙漠化、充分利用盐碱地、实现资源的可持续利用，而且由于北美海蓬子本身所具有的巨大经济价值，将为农民发展生态产业脱贫致富创造极好的机会。为此就北美海蓬子经济价值，北美海蓬子种植技术、耐盐机理和分子生物学方面的研究进展，北美海蓬子开发前景作一综述。
英文摘要	Salicornia bigelovii Torr is a euhalophyte that can tolerate high Na^＋ concentrations and belongs to the Chenopodiaceae. It grows optimally in a broad range of Na^＋ concentrations. Contemporarily,S, bigelovii is also a potential economic crop. Planting S. bigelovii on great acreage can not only restore and rebuild ecology in the seacoast, harness desertification, make the most of salinized land, realize the continuous utilize of resource, but also can create a good chance of making rich for farmers because of the great economic values S. bigelovii has. Carrying out deeply molecule biology study on salt tolerance or other physiological characteristics of S. bigelovii and clone genes correlated with salt tolerance or others, can offer a base for the implantation of transgene crops. This article has summa- rized the economic values to exploit the S. bigelovii;the technology of plant S. bigelovii,the progress of study in the mechanism of salt tolerance and molecular biology, the foreground of S. bigelovii exploitation.
