Phenotypic and Seedling Growth Characteristics of different Germplasms of Green Seedling Cinnamomum Camphora (L.) Presl.

The resistance indexes of green seedlings Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. under flooding and drought stress are compared to provide reference basis for the screening of waterlogging and drought resistant greening vegetation. The double pot cover method is applied to carry out the water stress tests on two-year-old green seedling Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. for a total of 5 treatments: severe flooding (W1), moderate flooding (W2), mild flooding (W3), control (W4) and persistent drought (W5). Various physiological indexes of the leaves of green seedling Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. are determined at 10, 20, 30 and 40 d after treatment. Under the flooding stress, the relative electrical conductivity of the leaves of green seedling Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. is increased with the increase in the stress degree. The MDA content of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. seedling is increased with the increase in the stress degree. The MDA content of the greening seedlings shows a downward trend after mild and moderate flooding for 30 days. The SOD activity of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. seedling is increased first and then decreased with the prolongation of stress time, and the activity of SOD in the green seedlings keeps an increasing trend under mild and moderate flooding stress. Under drought stress, the relative electrical conductivity of the leaves of green seedling Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. shows a downward trend within 40 days after treatment and an upward trend after 40 days; while that of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. shows no significant change within 30 days after treatment and is increased after 30 days. The MDA content of green seedling Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. shows a downward trend within 40 days after treatment and an upward trend after 40 days; while that of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. seedling is decreased within 30 days after treatment and increased after 30 days. The activity of SOD in green seedling Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. shows an upward trend; while that in Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. shows a trend of increasing first, then decreasing, and then increasing again. The green seedling Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. can adapt to mild and moderate flooding environment, and its drought resistance is higher than that of Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl. seedling. Hence, it is more suitable for extension planting in the landscaping of arid and pluvial areas in China.
