英文摘要	The Tartar sand boa, Eryx tataricus (Lichtenstein, 1823), is a vulnerable species in China, which is mainly distributed in desert regions. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of E. tataricus was determined and annotated. The 18,606-bp circular genome contained 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and 2 control regions. The overall base composition was: 37.1% A, 24.9% C, 25.7% T, and 12.4% G, with a total A+T content of 62.8%. The general genomic characters including genome size, nucleotides composition, and gene order were similar to those of other boas species. Phylogenetic analysis of all 11 Henophidia species indicated that the Boidae is a monophyletic group, and E. tataricus showed the close relationship to Boa constrictor.
