英文摘要	We analyze the reasons for considering Brachistosternus cepedai (Scorpiones: Bothriuridae), the first scorpion to be included in a conservation category in the Atacama Desert. We also discuss the systematic position and restricted distribution of B. cepedai, as well as potential threats and conservation measures for this species, which is endemic to a reduced area of the Chilean coastal desert.
