英文摘要 | The Newly reclaimed soil in the Karamay Agricultural Development Region has high salt content, poor fertility, mucilaginous and heavy texture, and is seriously eroded by wind. It is difficult to plant crops if the soil is not improved. The coverage of the desert natural vegetation dominated by Tamarix spp, Haloxylon ammodendron, Populus euphratica, etc., is low due to the shortage of water resources and the less in precipitation. In this paper, the effects of soil improvement by irrigation with the different irrigation water volumes in the Karamay Agricultural Development Region are analyzed so as to provide the scientific basis for rapidly improving the alkaline soil. The results show that there is a positive relationship between the EC value and soluble salt content, however, there is also a negative relationship between the EC value, soluble salt and pH value. The irrigation water volume affects significantly the contents of total salt. Cl- and SO42- in soil; with increasing the irrigation-water volume, HCO3’ content in topsoil and pH value are increased. Desalinization of the soil can be achieved by increasing irrigation water volume. |
