英文摘要 | The large-scale outbreak of Asia dust is detected from NOAA-AVHRR data. Dust appears as a greyish white area with a fairly gossamer texture in visible spectrum satellite image. Furthermore the detection of Asia dust is verified by using the air quality index (PM_(10)). Based on above criterion, this paper selects one orbit of AVHRR image (March,1,2001) as dust research data. Second, optical thickness is one primary parameter to describe extinction effect of dust aerosol, so one lookup table (LUT) of optical thickness is built by calculating radiative transfer equation over a wide range of optical thickness, TOA reflectance, solar angles, scan angles and active angles, and the following information is utilized in the calculation: the first channel of AVHRR is visible band (0.58~0.68 mu), surface reflectivity of the ocean is 0.02, atmosphere model is mid-latitude winter and aerosol model is the shettle desert model. Therefore, optical thickness of dust aerosol can be retrieved from AVHRR reflectance by using LUT. The contour map of satellite inferred dust optical thickness in Yellow Sea and Bohai Bay indicates that maximum value reaches to 4.0 and optical thickness exceeds 1 in most dust affected area. According to some research, optical thickness tau_(0.55) of dust aerosol is proportional to mass loading M of an atmosphere column extending from the surface to the top of the atmosphere, so estimate mass loading from the inverse model M = 1.18 * tau_(0.55)~(1.28), and the map of mass loading shows that the dust mass in dust affected sea area is about 0.64Mt. |
