英文摘要 | This work uses the ABC analysis of inventory data from two areas of caatinga, type of vegetation of semi-arid region of Brazil, in different stages of succession, to check if firewood would be the most appropriate use and to evaluate the effect of time of succession in the composition structure. Data were collected in steppe-savanna in Floresta - Pernambuco, Brazil. The relative cover-abundance value and the relative volume value were estimated and their accumulated values were plotted on curves, delimiting the classes A, B and C, corresponding respectively to 70, 25 and 5 %, registering the number of species and their suitability for use as firewood. The composition of the class A of the two areas was compared by chi-square test (1%). The density and volume of the two areas differed and the proportions of Poincianella bracteosa Tul.) L.P. Queiroz, Jatropha molissima (Pohl) Baill. and Piptadenia moniliformis (Benth.) Luckow & R.W. Jobson were higher in the area of latest regeneration. In more conserved area, most of the volume was associated with larger trees of protected species (Myracrodruon urundeuva Allemao and Schinopsis brasiliensis Engl.) or those which provide poor quality firewood (Commiphora leptophloeos (Mart.) J.B. Gillett, Manihot carthaginensis subsp glaziovii (Mull Arg.) Allem., Cnidoscolus quercifolius Pohl). The highest concentration of coverage and volume in few species in area with most recent vegetation in relation to the area with more mature vegetation indicated differences in diversity, not identified by the Shannon index. The ABC analysis helps to evaluate the potential use of vegetation and monitor the dynamics of the succession after vegetation interventions. |
