英文摘要 | Eucalyptus is the most widely planted hardwood industrial-plantation species in the tropics and is mainly exploited for its pulp wood properties. In India, E. camaldulensis Dahnh is one of the most important cultivated species for its wider adaptability in arid and semi-arid areas. Sixty two microsatellite markers were used for estimation of genetic diversity and unique pattern identification combinations (UPIC) for 28 clones of E. camaldulensis. PI (polymorphic information content) estimates, indicating the ability of microsatellite markers to distinguish two closely related genotypes, and UPIC values provide the actual number of SSR loci required to discriminate the clones analyzed. The loci Embra5 was found to be the best informative loci, which could differentiate 26 clonal accessions. Highly informative subset from these 62 SSR loci would be sufficient for the future studies on genetic diversity or fingerprinting of E. camaldulensis with limited experimental cost. |
