Reptiles are a group of animals ever more common in veterinary practice. In these species, many diagnostic tools are in descriptive stages, including diagnostic blood cytology or hematology This article analyzes blood cells described in reptiles: erythrocytes, heterophiles, eosinophiles, monocytes, azurophiles and thrombocytes. It also shows the use of routine hematologic values as packed cell volume, total counts, hemoglobin and red blood cell indices. For all these values, we discuss its clinical interpretation related to physiological and pathological conditions.
