The present paper deals with ecophysiology of Peganum harmala L., an important medicinal plant of the Indian Thar desert. Leaf pigments, total sugars, crude protein and phosphorus contents varied significantly with different growth stages and seasons. Maximum amount of total chlorophyll and chlorophyll b occurred in summer season at flowering stage. Maximum contents of crude protein and phosphorus were recorded in flowering and seedling stages, respectively during winter season. Highest chlorophyll a/b ratio, carotenoids and sugars were recorded at vegetative stage during rainy season.
