英文摘要	A taxonomic treatment of the genus Panicum for Northeastern Mexico, which includes the states of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas is presented. The area is considered a centre of origin and plant diversification for the and and semi-arid zones for the country, where the agriculture and livestock activities are important. The genus is the most diverse in tribe Paniceae, with a cosmopolitan distribution, and 19 species are distributed in Northeastern Mexcio. A key to the genera that have been recently segregated from Panicum is presented. In addition, distribution maps are included and species relationships are discussed.
