Two species of the moss genus Bryum, B. orbiculatifolium Cardot & Broth. and B. archangelicum Bruch & Schimp., which have hitherto been known only from the Antarctic Peninsula region in the maritime Antarctic, are recorded for the first time from continental Antarctica, from the Schirmacher Oasis in Dronning Maud Land. Accordingly, the moss flora of the continental Antarctic consists now of 23 species of moss. The range of B. argenteum Hedw. var. muticum Brid., a taxon known in Antarctica under the name B. subrotundifolium A. Jaeger from Victoria Land and Enderby Land on the continent, is extended to Dronning Maud Land. Antarctic distribution of the taxa concerned is mapped and some taxonomic and habitat notes are provided.
