Armadillidium tunisiense n. sp. from Tunisia is described. The main characteristics of this species are the aspect of the cephalon and the high differentiation of the secondary sexual characters of the male. Thus, the sternal margin of the ischium of the male pereiopod VII is strongly concave, having a process that transversely protrudes. Furthermore, the distal end of the endopodite of pleopod I is strongly curved outwards. This species is very abundant in the north of Tunisia and also reaches the centre and the south. It colonizes humid, sub-humid, semi-arid, and Saharian regions, and lives in different types of biotope.
