The structural adaptation of one humped camel to the life in desert still occupies many researchers, since it is not completely understood. In the present investigation some morphological structures and their characteristics of one humped camel that provide the animal with the mechanism for adaptation to the desert life have been studied. The tarsal glands and glands of palpebra tertia and huge nasal glands are well developed. The lacrimal apparatus of one humped camel consists of two separate functional units. The vomeronasal organ is well developed. The camel possesses unusual blind sac not present in any other animal. It has well developed elastic structures of foot. The various anatomical and physiological aspects with their relevance to desert life are discussed.
